Scottish Cup Quarter Finals

From The Jags Trust

The transfer window closed at the end of January, just a bare five weeks ago.

February has been a busy period for the Trustees, Beneficiaries, supporters, management and players. Apart from Home and Away matches on Saturdays and mid-week there was the Club AGM and Cup match.

The 5th round of the Scottish Cup took the travelling support to Elgin.

Our day out was a368 miles round trip. Some were wise enough to book into a local hotel and made a weekend of it. The outcome of said game was a 2-3 final score and the subsequent draw gave Thistle an away match.

As we came to the end of February Partick Thistle was invited by the Lord Provost to join her in the City Chambers to celebrate our 150th Anniversary. The Banqueting Hall was full of Red, Yellow and Black.

Flags draped from the Minstrels Gallery. Strips from across the decades on the stage. The present team and management were alongside familiar faces of supporters and players over the years. It was topped off with a buffet and speeches. It was a very pleasant evening.

March has begun with the 150th Anniversary celebrations continuing with lunch in the Radisson Blu.

The six hours passed in a flash with our hosts Partick Thistle stalwarts Cat Harvey and Des McKeown interviewing a wide spectrum of ex-players and managers with great stories to tell and lots of laughter.

March sees Thistle remaining close on the coat tails of St Johnstone, in second position in the league. Firhill will not see us throughout the month of March with matches all being away from our home.

But D-Day has arrived!

As you pull yourself together today, including all your superstitions, yes, it is a Sunday. Remember kick off is not lunchtime or 3pm! The show gets on the road at 7:30pm.

No matter where you are watching the game, be it Paisley or on BBC Scotland Sportscene have a great evening!

C’mon the Jags!

Red & Yellow Forever!
